Thank you for the invitation! I’m not sure if we qualify anymore… although I am still very much an unschooler at heart. We’re using more of a Charlotte Mason approach, which I find to be very child-respecting and trusting of the learning process.
My oldest son was ready for more structure and leadership from me, and is loving the curriculum I’m gathering as we go. We are very much learning together, but it’s not quite as anything-goes anymore. We have made pretty thorough use of our local resources over the past 8 years, and were ready to “hit the books” a little more last year. So, that’s what we’ve been doing!

What a great idea! I’ve added my blog, but I’m not sure how I “get the button” to put on my blog. I’m a bit of a bloggin novice!! :)

I’ve tried to sign on with Christian Unschoolers, but my URL was not accepted:(
We’ve unschooled forever, and I’ve love to network, if only I could figure out inlinkz. http://debrasblogpureandsimple.blogspot.com

Oh how wonderful! I’d love to join a blog list and get to know other unschooling christian families!

After much research and pondering I have come to the conclusion this may be the best for my son. We do appreciate some structure, but on our own terms. So I hope our new homeschooling adventure, to start Jan. 3, will bring less frustration and more balance. Thank you for starting this. I am very excited to learn so much more about unschooling.

Oh, how I have hoped for a group of Christian unschooler friends. We have flip flopped over the years, mainly due to my oldests personality of liking boxes checked. This week she said she’d like to try and just “know what needs to be done” and then wing it. I said ok, but inside I lost a little confidence in this (9th). Deep down I believe it is best, could use encouragement, please feel free to email me. Thanks

I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to have found this website! I always felt that we would be the oddballs with our Christian friends if we unschooled our boys. We live in Maine where the unschoolers are crunchy (we are too, sort of) and liberal(not us). It’s tough to find a niche when you live that kind of dichotomy. So happy to have found you all!

I am so thrilled to have found your site and a link to all these other wonderful sites to check out. I hope to visit all of them. We currently have two boys and the oldest is almost 3. I believe we are already homeschooling, unschooling seems like the perfect fit for what we really want for our kids. I’m new to all of this so I am happy to already know there is support out there for us as we begin our journey.

Wow look at all of you!! So glad to find more to connect with. I had used the term Organic Homeschooling to describe our home/un-school.

Just wondering if I qualify to become a member of Christian Unschoolers. I do ‘follow’ a plan to a small degree, or should I say, when I can! It gives me a map to help keep our family somewhat on track but for the most part we are extremely laid back, going with something on a whim, and basically just living and learning together as we go along in life.
