We’ve had eight kids in the house this weekend (but only seven who eat at mealtimes), and they’ve had so much fun together! To add to the excitement, we decided to use this time to make a terrific memory for the kids — camping outside.

It’s been a while since the big kids have been camping. And it’s been about a year and a half for Aisha and Brioni, so they have no memory of sleeping in a tent.

David and Heidi set up the tent in the afternoon. It was drizzling lightly the whole time, and we're hoping it doesn't rain through the night.

Our three-room tent is big enough for our family, but we haven't used it since Calista was a baby.

The girls were pretending to be acrobats in the tent.

We made a little fire, and after dinner, we toasted marshmallows on it.
