We’ve spent most of today watching a live camera feed from inside a barn owl’s nesting box. The wild owl is sitting on five eggs, and they’re due to begin hatching any minute.

The feed is absolutely addicting — as people in California’s west coast will attest — they’re still watching at 2am! Everyone wants to see the eggs hatch into baby chicks.

Our girls have loved seeing the owl and its eggs, but it’s me who’s addicted. Here’s a recorded interview about the owl, named Molly.
