Delaney, 6 weeks old, February 2010

Despite our current preoccupation, I can’t let this little milestone go past unnoticed. Delaney is six weeks old today, and to celebrate, this morning she pulled off my nipple while feeding in order to give me a big, beaming smile!

And after six weeks, feeding is finally pain-free. I just need to remember that it takes this long until it feels fine.

As far as Dell’s schedule goes, I was so exhausted that I tried dropping the late night feed last night, and Dell slept until 5.30 this morning. After ten hours of sleep, I feel like a new person. Hopefully she’ll continue to sleep through the night for me from now on. I don’t know how some mothers manage to live a normal life after feeding through the night for months on end! I really like lots of sleep. Don’t you?
