We took the girls to the park late this afternoon for a little picnic dinner. It was a great idea, as we were all entertained by the BMX stunt riders and a small flock of geese that was wandering around.

Calista, 17 months old, August 2009
Calista loves to sing to herself. (Sometimes she gets very loud!)

David, August 2009
At 36, my husband is ageing very gracefully. (But he hardly recognises himself in photos — he must still picture himself in his early twenties!)

Bike rider, August 2009
The skate and bike ramps were busy with many young fellows trying their hand at stunts. It kept us entertained, but I couldn't help worrying just a little bit for their safety...

David, Calista, 17 months old, Aisha, 4yo, + Brioni, 3yo, August 2009
The girls love being out with their daddy.

Goose, August 2009
This goose was quite aggressive and pecked us on the ankles if we got too close.

Goose, August 2009
There's something about a goose's snaky neck that is intimidating.

David lured the geese close with some bread in an attempt to pet one. (He has a "thing" about catching birds, as loyal readers already know.)

After a long play on the playground (for the girls AND David — I can’t fit down the slide anymore), we cooked some sausages on the free electric barbecues. Do other countries offer free bbq facilities in their parks?
