We received a surprise SMS this morning from a lady, who offered her darling daughter to us for the day (if we wanted). Dayna is on school holidays, and with her mum working, her dad away and her sister visiting a friend, she didn’t really have something to do today.

Dayna, Calista, 1yo, Brioni, 2yo, + Aisha, 4yo, April 2009
Dayna played with all three girls for a lot of the time.

Of course we were excited to have her visit. Dayna played all day with the girls, giving me the opportunity to put the house back into order after the last round of renovations.

In the early afternoon, the girls went outside to play. Brioni had a little rest in the boat swing after Dayna first made it very comfortable by adding pillows, Boolah and some soothing music. Aisha blew bubbles and then collected a pile of sticks and leaves and pretended to make a fire.

With the bathroom almost completed, I managed to put all the tools away, vacuum and mop (!) the floors and restore the living room to its former glory. We’ve been living in a construction site for several weeks, and it’s great to walk around the house without sawdust clinging to the bottom of your feet.
