I’m still smarting from the feedback I received from a pro-bono client after I submitted my first draft of a poster for their Easter activity.

I was very pleased with my artwork. I thought I was creative and contemporary, with subtle symbolism referencing the crosses and the resurrection and with no Easter eggs or rabbits in sight.

THEIR REACTION:
“Looks nice but maybe not for a carnival type activity. Thinking bright primary colours or pastels and maybe some photos from last year of kids with painted faces, water balloons, egg hunt.”

Sigh. Back to the drawing board. But I’m discouraged. I’d hate to waste this lovely piece of art.
