My mother (Manou) taught kindergarten in Abidjan for many years. She was very scheduled and had specific activities planned for certain days. I remember that she always scheduled baking for Fridays (am I right?), and I would like to be organised enough to establish some similar structure into our weeks.

So I’ve decided to offer a baking activity with the girls on Mondays. And because I’m a wuss, I started off with the easiest thing I could think of. Decorating pizza. Very little to learn from this activity, except watching the clock.

However, when Aisha asked me why we couldn’t put pear on the pizza, I was stumped. Why don’t we put pear on pizza?

I started with an easy baking project — pizza with a pre-fab base. Easy to complete, yummy to eat. And the girls watched the clock to tell when it was ready to come out of the oven.
