I have been playing tummy tag on my mobile phone with some girlfriends for several months now. Here’s how it goes.

I do some exercises, say 20 sit-ups. I SMS ’20 sit-ups’ to my friend. She has to do those exercises and then some more, say ’15 push-ups’. She then sends back a text saying ’15 push-ups’. I have to do the required exercises before adding my own and sending back an SMS.

This keeps us accountable for our tummy exercises, as well as pelvic floor lifts (and reminds us to do them!). It’s not too onerous, as you usually only end up doing exercises once a day, but you can’t avoid the beeps of the mobile phone.

Aïcha watches these exercises with fascination and often says ‘More, more!’ when I gasp at the finish!
