On Saturday evening, we had a delightful surprise visit from the Dayals. Kavita came with her three boys: Jeremiah, Zechariah + Aaron. It was really fun to catch up with them — the older boys are almost men!

Auntie K meets Calista!

David, Brioni, 22 months, Zech, + Aaron, 4yo, July 2008
We took turns toasting marshmallows in the fire. Aaron enjoyed riding the bike around the house.

Lauren + Kavita, July 2008
Me with Kavita -- oh, if only you didn't blink, K!

Then on Sunday we had lunch with a family that has four girls… with another on the way! We feel a particular affinity with the Greshams — not only because they have girls, but they love the Lord, homeschool their children and are informed and aware of the current affairs (namely, peak oil) that lead us to seek an alternative lifestyle.

Dominick + David, July 2008
Dominick inspected the renovations with David.

Wendy with Calista, 3 months old, July 2008
Wendy was holding Calista in practice for six weeks' time when she's due to have their fifth child... gender unknown.

I’ve been asking Wendy a lot of questions about her homeschooling style and curriculum, with more to come, no doubt! Wendy likes Playmobil too — ah, a kindred heart!

Sinead, Sionnan, Aisha, Rebekah + Xanthe, July 2008
It didn't take long for the girls to play happily together.

Four in the boat — oh, what fun!

Sionnan, July 2008
The girls set up their own obstacle course/balance beam/see-saw with the planks I keep in the backyard.
