I am currently trying something with the girls’ toys in an attempt to reduce the number of small things left lying around for me to pick up.

Every time I pick up a toy the girls are not playing with (usually because it was tipped out of a basket when they were searching for another item), I put the toy in a basket on a top shelf. If the toy is requested, I am happy to bring it down again.

So far, the toys that are left out are Duplo and Playmobil people, baby-dolls and wheely things.

If only this trick worked for socks! (And shoes — they always end up under the dining table…)
