Interview: Calista at 6
26 March 14
On our children’s birthdays, I interview them, asking them the same set of questions each year. This allows us to see how they’re changing and if they have interests that remain the same. I call these the Birthday Interviews. This is Calista’s fourth interview.

What are you going to be when you grow up?
Well, I don’t really know yet. I want to be a mother.
What’s that going to be like?
I don’t really know, I’ve never been a mother before. I’ll have to take care of my children, but I don’t really know what it’s going to be like.
What are your favourite toys?
Uni and Little Pink Unicorn
Who are your best friends?
Well, I don’t really have any.
What makes you happy?
Sucking my thumb.
What makes you sad?
Well, I don’t really get sad often, so I don’t really know.
When you dream at night, what do you dream about? Can you remember any of your dreams?
Well, anything! I don’t really dream about fairy tale things.
What do you like to do with Lauren?
I like to sit down on her lap and let her look in my hair.
What’s your favourite colour?
Pink.
What’s your favourite book?
I don’t really have one. I don’t look at books much.
What does Lauren do during the day?
What do you do during the day, Lauren? (laughs) I don’t know what she does during the day!
What do you do during the day?
Well, I just play. I ask Lana to play a game and sometimes I play games with Lana during the day and sometimes I play games on my kipi during the day.
What do you want to learn or do or visit before you turn seven?
I know where I want to go — to the pool! I do actually want to go there!
Want to see how she’s changed? You can read Calista’s interview when she turned three, four and five. (You can access the rest of our girls’ birthday interviews here.)
