On our children’s birthdays, I interview them, asking them the same set of questions each year. This allows us to see how they’re changing and if they have interests that remain the same. I call these the Birthday Interviews. This is Aisha’s sixth interview.

Nine years old today!

What are you going to be when you grow up?
I just want to be a normal person that goes around and sees cool stuff.

What’s that going to be like?
I’ll be seeing all sorts of interesting things, getting to know the world.

What are your favourite toys?
Abcd and Smoochie and Daddy-bear.

Who are your best friends?
Satria and Lily.

What makes you happy?
Being with Daddy-bear. If I feel sad, I find Daddy-bear and cuddle him.

What makes you sad?
Being bullied.

When you dream at night, what do you dream about? Can you remember any of your dreams?
Last night I had a dream this girl that had magic powers. She knows how to shrink things and many other small spells.

What do you like to do with Lauren?
Play with her and hug her.

What’s your favourite colour?

What’s your favourite book?
A Little Princess.

What does Lauren do during the day?
She takes us to cool places.

What do you do during the day?
Play. I play all day! Play with my toys, with my kipi or outside.

What do you want to learn or do or visit before you turn ten?
I have been wanting to go to another fair for a long time.
