Our new travelling rig has a name — The Gifted Gypsy — not because I’m gifted, but because the bus was. Thank you again to everyone who contributed to its purchase, and here are some more pictures of it, before it gets modified and decorated to suit our family!

When looking for transport, the number of seats was the most important factor. We have five permanent seats and two fold-down ones in the bus. (And the upholstery is red, cool, hey?)

The rear of the bus contains a double bed, one small child and a kitchenette featuring a 12-volt fridge and a sink. I've already installed a pump-action tap for the sink, alongside a pump for the soap. (Can you see the small child?)

The right-hand side of the bus is currently empty. I plan to have cupboards and shelves built here to hold our clothes and other belongings.

A luggage rack is still mounted on the ceiling. It's handy for holding extra bedding, but I don't know if it'll survive the renovations.

Currently the luggage rack attracts children who like to hang from it and jump onto anything else in the bus, so it’s a great reminder to me that any new furniture has to be as sturdy as standard playground-equipment!

I haven’t really fit out a travelling rig before. This has been something that David has always done for us while I cheered from the sidelines and kept him fuelled up on food and encouragement. So I’ll learn lots, I’m sure, and perhaps our girls will as well!
