On our children’s birthdays, I interview them, asking them the same set of questions each year. This allows us to see how they’re changing and if they have interests that remain the same. I call these the Birthday Interviews. This is Brioni’s third interview.

What are you going to be when you grow up?
Lots of things: a ballerina, a tap-shoe-dancer and a librarian, and a mummy of course. ?

What’s that going to be like?
I don’t know. ?

What are your favourite toys?
Small toys or baby dolls.

Who are your best friends?
Bethany and Kalei.

What makes you happy?
?Boo-boo (a.k.a. Boolah — her comfort rug).

What makes you sad?
?Hurting or when I’m in trouble.

When you dream at night, what do you dream about?
?Well, once I dreamed about something that was real. I dreamed that I was going in an airplane and driving to Australia in the airplane.

What do you like to do with David?
Go out to shops to buy yummy stuff.?

What do you like to do with Lauren?
Talk about everything.

Ballerina books.

What does David do during the day?
Works. He works for us.
