Picture perfect? Here we are on Sunday morning, ready for church. (I enjoy dressing us all in matching colours!)

And this is what a photo shoot at our house really looks like.

Aïcha has started turning away (or running away) from the camera, probably because I have it out so often!

However, I have gaps in my memory of Aïcha’s babyness — whether from pure motherhood or PND, I don’t know, and so I want to take all the photos I can so I remember all the next stages of their lives.

As a side note, I haven’t shown Aïcha the preview on the back of the camera because I fear it will spoil the spontaneity of consecutive shots, and she has to wait until they’re on the computer to see them. Our kids will never know the anticipation of putting a roll of film in to be developed nor the trepidation of fanning through fresh prints.

I snuck down the hall and snapped this photo during Aïcha's "rest-time". Instead of staying in her room, she had moved to the bathroom and was playing with the toys and toiletries. She really loves to categorise items at the moment. You can see she's lined up all the cups, the bath books and the animals.

Hello, hippo! In the background you can see my favourite bubblebath, "Wash away your sins" (most of which ended up on the bathroom floor as I put the camera away).
