Who can believe that it’s almost October 2010? Without children to watch grow, the passage of time is almost meaningless. With a baby, each month brings new skills and — in Dell’s case — hair!

Nine months on, Dell is starting to grow a little bit of hair.

Her hair looks and feels like peach fuzz.

I love my bald babies. It means I can kiss their whole head without getting mouthfuls of hair. And when you have babies as gorgeous as mine, you want to kiss them all the time — and sometimes the only clean spot is on top of their head!

At nine months, Delaney is starting to move more confidently on her feet, although she prefers to crawl and is getting very fast! She’s started venturing outside, somehow managing to crawl down a single step without falling on her face.

I never get tired of trying to coax a smile from Delaney.

She often follows her sisters around the house, but will head for me if she spies me — so I duck and weave to keep out of her vision. Her eye-teeth are currently coming through her gums, which isn’t much fun, but her fishy-rug always cheers her up.

She's not always cheery — especially when I leave the room. Oh, darling, don't be sad!
